Seth Liebenstein

Seth Liebenstein is a partner in M&R’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Corporate, M&A, Securities & Real Estate Practice Group. With a background as a former commercial real estate broker, Seth brings a business-minded approach to his legal practice, advising clients on a broad range of real estate transactions across the U.S.

With a practice spanning acquisitions, dispositions, financing, commercial leasing, and cooperative and condominium representation, Seth works closely with property owners, developers, real estate families, and investors on issues and transactions concerning multifamily properties, mixed-use developments, shopping centers, commercial and retail buildings, and bulk cooperative and condominium units.

Well-versed in cooperative and condominium law, Seth serves as general counsel to numerous residential buildings in New York City, advising on governance, operations, construction contracts, commercial leasing, and mortgage financings. He collaborates with M&R’s employment and litigation teams to support these clients’ diverse legal needs.

Beyond cooperative and condominium representation, Seth has significant experience handling commercial leasing matters. He regularly represents landlords, tenants, and subtenants in office, retail, and restaurant leasing transactions nationwide.
