Jon-Jamison Hill represents clients in commercial disputes, bringing sound judgment and a calm, strategic approach to every matter. With more than two decades of litigation experience, he handles complex cases with an eye toward the legal issues at hand and the business context driving them.

As the leader of the firm’s business litigation group, Jon manages matters spanning contract, construction, real estate, IP, and environmental disputes. He has represented clients in trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration, and is known for guiding cases toward resolution in a way that supports operational continuity and minimizes disruption.

Jon works across industries including financial services, technology, entertainment, and construction. In addition to his litigation practice, he advises on deal-related risks and helps clients anticipate legal challenges early, providing counsel aimed at preventing disputes altogether.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained a favorable settlement on behalf of a county agency against $400M+ in claims asserted by a contractor for major highway renovation and infrastructure improvement project.
  • Prosecuted claims brought by a Massachusetts school district on behalf of a class of other municipalities for damage caused by polychlorinated biphenyls in caulk and other building materials used to construct several schools in the state.
  • Obtained dismissal of all claims in a high-profile case against the producers of the Academy Award© winning film The Hurt Locker and defended judgment on appeal.
  • Represented an NFL team in connection with claims it successfully brought against the architect who designed its nationally-recognized stadium.
  • Represented a minor league baseball team at arbitration against a city that illegally attempted to revoke the team’s lease of a local stadium. Obtained a preliminary injunction, an interim award holding the city liable, and ultimate settlement in favor of the team.
  • Prosecuted civil claims on behalf of a bankruptcy trustee against an international banking institution and a number of hedge funds for approximately $20 million of fraudulent transfers resulting in significant recovery for client.
  • Recovered company data and facilitated ouster of a partner who took data and other company property in an effort to extract a large monetary distribution from the company client.
  • Obtained a multi-million-dollar jury verdict at trial for a prominent tax attorney who sued his former client for money owed for services rendered.
  • Achieved full affirmation on appeal of judgments entered in favor of a private equity firm in series of lawsuits brought by the former owner of a failed real estate development project, then obtained indemnity judgment against the bank who sold the property after foreclosure.
