Contracts involving Middle Eastern projects may still be governed by English law, Daniel explains, but that doesn’t mean London must be the place where disputes are resolved. Arbitration centers in the Middle East have recruited retired specialist judges, while law firms there have added international lawyers experienced in handling these types of matters, which is a meaningful shift from a time when London was more routinely chosen for these arbitrations.
