Full Bio

Joshua Blechner is an Associate in Michelman & Robinson LLP’s (M&R’s) Commercial & Business Litigation Department, working out of the firm’s New York office. Mr. Blechner handles complex litigation matters, including: commercial contract disputes, employment litigation and counseling, software licensing, copyright and trademark filings and actions, and commercial real estate.

With regard to his employment practice, Mr. Blechner has, for example, represented a hotel concierge company in settling an age discrimination suit, advised a tour group company in a wage and hour dispute, and counseled a CEO in the settlement of wrongful termination claims. He has also handled an assortment of general contract disputes, such as settling claims by an investor over mishandled funds, settling a lawsuit involving a fashion designer and vendor, and successfully defeating a summary judgement motion in the New York Supreme Court on behalf of a car restorer in a conflict with a client.

Mr. Blechner’s trademark and copyright experience includes assisting in the representation of a photographer in a copyright dispute over misuse of licensed photographs, which resulted in a favorable settlement, as well as advising a Broadway show reviewer on trademark and copyright issues related to the company’s website.

Before law school, Mr. Blechner was involved in documentary film production for several independent producers as well as A&E Television Networks.


Mr. Blechner received a joint B.A. and M.A. magna cum laude with honors from Brandeis University in May 2004, and his J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law in May 2011 where he was an editor on the Urban Law Journal, a member of Moot Court and a Ruth Whitehead Whaley Scholar; as well as a recipient of Dean’s List recognition; the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award, cum laude; and the Addison M. Metcalf Labor Law Prize. He was also accepted to Fordham’s first ever Fashion Law practicum.
