Dana A. Kravetz is M&R’s Firm Managing Partner based in Los Angeles. In that capacity, he oversees a complex and thriving business spread across four states—California, Texas, Illinois and New York.

A hospitality industry authority who lends his legal and business expertise to a hotel and resort clientele, Dana is an active participant in the space. He sits on the Advisory Board for the Cornell Center for Innovative Hospitality Labor and Employment Relations as well as the Planning Committee for the Americas Lodging Investment Summit Law Conference. In both roles, Dana collaborates to identify hot topics facing hoteliers and develop programming to educate them. In addition, Dana frequently speaks at national and regional hospitality industry conferences and events, and he regularly contributes articles to prominent hospitality trade magazines and newsletters.

With a unique vantage point to his work as a lawyer—that of a business owner and operator—Dana assigns practical applications to the employment issues confronting his client base. Likewise, given that he runs a firm with offices in multiple jurisdictions, Dana has firsthand knowledge as to how best to manage off-site employees, as well as a keen understanding of the interplay between state and federal laws, all of which inures to the benefit of M&R’s industry clientele.

It is his business-centric approach to cases that makes his defense of clients in various employment matters—sexual harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, whistleblower and class action litigation, workforce reduction, hiring best practices, and wage and hour issues, to name a few—a cut above. And unlike other experienced labor and employment practitioners, Dana’s fluency in disputes involving the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) is enhanced by virtue of his management expertise. The same can be said of his work with companies facing Department of Labor (DOL) and Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) claims and audits.

He is among an exclusive group of Southern California lawyers asked to participate in Super Lawyers’ Blue Ribbon Panel to evaluate the nominees for upcoming Southern California Super Lawyers lists.
