Arti Fotedar is an associate in M&R’s New York office and member of the firm’s Commercial & Business Litigation Group. In that capacity, she represents clients in state and federal courts as well as at arbitration and mediation.
Having extensive case-handling experience, both in and out of the courtroom, Arti drafts pleadings, discovery, pre-trial motions, briefs, research memoranda, jury instructions, settlement documentation and the like, and appears at depositions and in courts throughout New York State. She is also a skilled negotiator able to facilitate early case resolutions. Of note, Arti has a particular command of complex disputes in the healthcare space.
A graduate of Binghamton University, where she was awarded a B.S. in Business Management and B.A. in Asian Studies, Arti earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she was an editor of the Food and Drug Law Journal. Arti also has an M.P.H. from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and has held several internships at governmental agencies such as the Federal Communications Commission, Department of Health and Human Services, Food and Drug Administration and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
