"On July 1, 2015, amendments revamping the California Family Rights Act (“CFRA”) went into effect. CFRA is a regulation that provides employees with up to 12 workweeks of leave within a 12-month period for a qualifying event, such as a serious health condition or family care leave. CFRA covers employers who employ 50 or more employees within a 75-mile radius, and employees who have worked for the employer for at least 12 months and at least 1,250 hours during the 12-month period immediately preceding the leave."
