Michelman & Robinson, LLP, ("M&R") a full service law firm with locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Orange County, New York and New Jersey is pleased to announce that William Gausewitz will join the Firm as a partner in its Regulatory & Administrative Department. Mr. Gausewitz will be based out of the Firm's Sacramento office.
Throughout his notable career, Mr. Gausewitz, a distinguished member of the insurance industry, has served in a number of high profile positions within the state's administrative and insurance departments. He brings his incomparable experience and industry expertise to M&R's well respected regulatory practice beginning October 1, 2009.

Mr. Gausewitz most recently acted as the Counsel to the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for Policy and Regulation of California's Department of Insurance. Prior to his position at the Department of Insurance, he was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Director of the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) where he managed the office's daily operations and advised the Governor on regulatory procedures. He previously served as the Staff Director for the California State Senate; Senior Consultant/Deputy Staff Director for the California State Assembly Republican Caucus; Assistant Vice President, State Affairs, of the American Insurance Association; and the Assistant Vice President, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, for Farmers Insurance Group.
