Structuring Treatment Facilities in light of Stark Law and Anti-Kickback StatutesPDF National Conference on Addiction on Disorders
Ron Lebow presented on "Structuring Treatment Facilities in light of Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statutes," at the National Conference on Addiction on Disorders in Baltimore, MD on August 20 from 10:15 am - 11:45 am.
The presentation covered how to practically implement a business structure to comply with the laws and regulations governing so-called “Stark Law” designated health services (DHS), including laboratory services, and the Anti-Kickback Statute. It provided practical guidance for both providers and private business investors seeking to maximize business goals while avoiding severe legal risks and payer audits, fines and penalties - or even criminal prosecution. Increasingly, owners and investors are seeking to partner and create synergies to maximize the value of their business, from inception to potential sale.
Doing things right from the beginning will protect the value of the investment and avoid issues which can be destructive for the business and the owners personally many years down the road. This presentation showed how both providers and investors can do things right from the very start.
