Spencer Hamer spoke at the California Ambulance Association's 64 Annual Convention.

Spencer’s presentation, entitled “How Will Implementation of Affordable Care Act Requirements Affect CAA Members? and, A Review of New Employment Legislation Passed or Pending in the California Legislature in September, 2012,” comprised of a discussion of the key requirements employers need to consider in planning an ACA compliance strategy.

Topics covered included:

  • Contrasting the new benefit rules with current federal and state provisions and providing guidance on employer best practices
  • A practical evaluation of the portions of the Act that impact employers and individuals now as well as what employers can do to begin preparing for full implementation in 2014
  • A review of the new employment-related laws passed or pending and likely to pass in September, 2012, with particular attention paid to new rules that affect the emergency transportation industry.

M&R also sponsored the Welcome Lunch on September 26th and had a table display throughout the duration of the conference.
