Keeping Your Attendees Safe and SecurePDF Meeting Professionals International
David Samuels spoke on a panel titled, “Keeping Your Attendees Safe and Secure,” at the Meeting Professionals International (Sacramento/Sierra Nevada Chapter) September Education Luncheon.
David’s panel discussed best practices, legal strategies, and the tools & technologies available to help MPI Chapter members (hoteliers, meeting planners, and event suppliers) keep their attendees safe and secure while attending their event.
Topics covered included:
- What types of safety and security risks you should be aware of when planning an event
- How you can incorporate the resolve to those risks into your communications and emergency response plans
- What legal ramifications there may be to an issue and how to protect yourself against those
- What the best way is to arrange security so that your attendees are appropriately protected
This meeting was designed to enlighten MPI membership in the areas of safety and security at their events, meetings, trade shows and conventions. David’s presentation covered personal safety for MPI members who travel extensively and most of the time unaccompanied (to and from meetings). A typical monthly meeting consists of 75-100 attendees.
