3 Things To Watch After FCC’s Privacy Rules Get The Ax

Law360

Ron Camhi was quoted in the Law360 article, “3 Things To Watch After FCC’s Privacy Rules Get The Ax.” The article addresses the recent vote in the Senate and House to eliminate privacy regulations for broadband providers. The action by Congress, which is expected to get President Donald Trump’s signature, allows for the collection and use of consumer information by broadband providers. Mr. Camhi is one of the many within the advertising and digital media space who has been predicting the repeal of the FCC rule. Still, believing that consumers demand transparency and value in return for the collection and use of their behavioral data, Mr. Camhi commented that broadband providers remain bound by this “social contract” that will serve as an incentive for providers to avoid betraying customer trust on privacy.
